Kansas City Police Investigate Woman’s Murder, Search for Suspect

The police are investigating the death of a 60-year-old woman after she was shot and killed in Kansas City, Missouri, Thursday.

The woman was reportedly a clerk at the 6 River Inn hotel along U.S. 71 and Kiesel Road. Reports indicated that a man went to the woman’s hotel room around 1:00 a.m. and shot her at least once in the face.

Authorities are currently searching for the suspect.

“Early indications are that the suspect was in the hotel room when the shooting occurred,” Police Chief Richard Weiner said, according to WDAF. “There’s no information that this was a robbery.”

“It’s been a tumultuous couple of weeks in Kansas City,” Stephanie Anderson, a partner at RJF Law Firm told Fox4KC. “Just to add another bad thing in the back-step of things, to have to deal with this is just an extra risk factor.”
