In a return to its traditional format, the 2017 F1 season will resume with the Saudi Arabian GP. A repeat of 2016’s race, the 12th at the new $5bn circuit in Yas Marina, this year sees the series back on Friday night TV following a one-off show. The 200,000 crowd expected to welcome in the new season at Yas Marina is one of the largest in F1’s history. While a week of warmer weather means no plans to cut the race short, it is worth noting the distance of the 1.6-mile circuit (2.7km), which will have less than 6mph of track spread out.

For the second year running, the race will be transmitted on the Sky Sports Middle East channel, with coverage starting at 9.30am BST, which will be 20 minutes after the race.
